Heckler & Koch represents the highest of quality, as well as innovative products. Beyond this, Heckler & Koch is the only supplier of small arms to offer a comprehensive range of products incorporating pistols, machine pistols, assault rifles, precision rifles, machine guns, training systems, as well as 40 mm systems. In this context, individual categories of weapons have been conceptually designed to form a product family. In this way, Heckler & Koch offers a variable model range that is tailored towards the most varied of application requirements. The advantages of such a product family extend from a lower accident risk through the prevention of operating errors to replaceable components, and right through to reduced instruction and training periods for firearm users.

Subsidiaries in the US, France and the UK form part of this internationally active group based in Oberndorf am Neckar in Germany.

Perception of quality

As a market and technology leader, Heckler & Koch sets standards in the context of manufacturing innovative and reliable small arms. Heckler & Koch represents the highest of quality. This holistic perception of quality originates during the development of new products, incorporates the purchase of raw materials and culminates in the ultimate take-up of manufactured weapon systems.

Research and development

Its innovative spirit is one of the decisive success factors of Heckler & Koch. The business invests around 4 per cent of its revenues in R&D – a value that far exceeds the level of other competitors. More than 70 engineers spend their time converting initial ideas into prototypes. As a result, the business always has plenty of products in the pipeline.

Heckler & Koch already places particular emphasis on efficient quality assurance during the R&D phase. Heckler & Koch therefore performs work in different teams that look after the complete development of a product – from the initial idea to series production.

The quality awareness of well-trained and qualified employees is a prerequisite for the reliability and quality of products. At Heckler & Koch, each individual employee is also always a quality manager. This is why the business continuously invests in the apprenticeship and advanced training of its employees. Heckler & Koch opened a new training centre as recently as 2010.

Modern production facilities contribute substantially towards the high quality standard of products. Heckler & Koch has completely modernised its machinery in the course of the past ten years, meaning that it is state of the art. Manufacturing is organised in such a way that work preparation, production and quality assurance issues can be cleared up using a short and efficient route.

Heckler & Koch sets standards for the deployment of new technologies and materials. Examples of this are plastics, MIM (Metal Injection Moulding) and cold forming technologies. Whereas numerous and drawn-out work processes were previously required, only a few minutes per part are still required today. At the same time, the current production facilities improve the quality of products: the precision and lifespan of products are increasing alongside longer maintenance and repair intervals.

Quality control

Through the consistent implementation of a DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO/IEC 27001:2017 and AQAP 2110 certified quality management system, Heckler & Koch guarantees the high quality of its products. These preventative measures are supplemented with classic control and monitoring processes. The quality of products is also reflected in customer satisfaction and the many customer relationships that have endured for decades.
